Candace has once again been fantastic in helping me and walked me through step by step instructions on how to make a stew.. so currently it is on the stove with the broth done and veggies boiling I just have to break all the meat off the bones now that they have been boiled and add the turkey and voila! Turkey Stew.. I'll update in a day or so and let everyone know how it turned out...and if i managed to kill anyone with it lol..

Merry Christmas!

Hey All,

Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

I was able to knock off two more from my goal list yesturday!

71. Own a Nintendo Wii
72. Get a Wii Fit and use it to help my exercise regime

My Mom gave me a Wii and Wii Fit for Christmas, Peter also gave me a Wii Fit..he was planning on getting me a Nintendo Wii as well but when we got my moms package in the mail the week before Christmas and saw the size and weight of some of the boxes and with the hints she had been dropping I was pretty sure it was a Wii/Wii Fit and mentioned that to Peter so he didnt end up buying me the Wii he was planning to.. other wise I would have ended up with Two Wii's and Two Wii Fits lol. So we decided we're going to take his Wii Fit back and get some other stuff for the Wii..probably another controller and probably the mario kart game. ^^

All in all Christmas was really good here.. Santa was good to us and our Christmas dinner turned out great.

Happy Holidays!

Photo Memories

So I decided that before I start to shed all the weight that I wanted to get some nice pictures taken the way I am now so that I can always look back on where I have been on this journey to better health and weight management.

I reached out to my co-worker and friend Christine who does photography outside of our normal work environment and asked if she would be willing to take some pictures for me so that I can have some good "before" pictures that I can always look back on for motivation as well as a rememberance of somewhere that weight wise, I never want to be again.

Christine said she wouldn't mind taking some for me and we have tentatively set a date of the first weekend of January. I'll make sure to post a picture on here when I get them ^^

I think that Photographs hold powerful memories.

Memories are important to us. They help us to know where we have been, the things that we have done and accomplished, how we have grown and changed through the years. They help us to make meaning of our lives and our relationships. They help us to know what our deeply held values are. Memories are important and I will always want to remember where I am right now.

Motivation

Hey Everyone,

So Ive been doing much better this past week with doing exercises regularly and im starting to get back into a solid routine. Here is hoping ill make out better for this upcoming year.I was talking with a co-worker at work the other day about my goals and about how i've been trying different things to lose weight and how I was going to start a blog and hope that by doing so it would give me the extra push i needed to stay motivated. She gave me a few links for some blogs that she follows and one of them was "Angie All The Way" . A woman who lives in our area who lost over 100lbs. I find her story very inspirational because even though there were times that she struggled with getting the gym, resisting food temptations etc she never gave up on herself to get to where she wanted to be. I hope that this time around I can do the same.

At this point I would really like to thank Christine who has been fantastic about giving me motivational inspiration, tips and tricks and different things to try on my journey to weight loss. I really appreciate all the insight you have given me, so thank you!

Thought of the day..

A friend of mine posted a great status on Facebook today and I wanted to put it here because its so true...

"The way to experience happiness is to let go of all worries and regrets and know that being happy is the most satisfying of life's feelings. Reflect back on all the progress in your life and allow the positive, creative, and joyous thoughts to outshine and overwhelm any sorrow or grief. Happiness is waiting there in front of you. Only you can decide whether or not you choose to experience it."...

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Goals Completed So Far!

Okay here we go! The first update of goals i've managed to complete so far!..

I've completed:

#5. Get my full drivers license
#6. Take a defensive driving course ( Halifax Drivers)
#10. Lose at least 30 lbs by December 31,2009
#31. Attend the George St Festival in NFLD
#44. Find a new author to read
#48. Attend a live concert
#54. Find a new cool local shop in downtown Halifax
#83.Read every book that I own before I buy a new book

So I took my defensive driving course in August 2009 through Halifax Drivers over two weekends of 8 hours days. The class was easy and shockingly I wasn't the oldest one there!..Though there were a few people there that I hope to never see out on the road!.. Really though..who asks the instructor: "so umm..if I have the choice of hitting either the back of a vehicle or the umm..that thing...that thing on the side of the road..that silver thing..." Instructor replies: " the guard rail?" Girl replies: "yeah that's it!..so which one should I hit?..."... Rest of the class O.O ....what the?... *shakes head* ...Oh well it was interesting to say the least!

I got my license on September 28th 2009, A huge thank you to my best friend Candace for taking me out driving so much, helping me out with driving tips and for coming to root me on the day of my test!..So the test wasn't anywhere near as bad as I thought it would be..the only downside was that until the day of my road test I had never driven in the rain..and wouldnt you know it poured buckets from just before my road test until a little while after.. oh well..I made it through ^^

I would have set a higher weight loss goal for the 2009 year but I figured that by the time I had started this goal list the year was almost half over so I dropped it down to 30lbs for the year.. I started out the 2009 year at 328lbs and glad to say that so far this year I have lost 34lbs and a total of 24 combined inches between my hips, waist and thighs..hooray..not that much I know..but I'm trying and will definately do better in 2010!

I got to attend the George Street Festival while home in NFLD this past summer with Peter since it was his first time to NFLD and it was a blast minus the fact that I lost him on George Street at one point!.. Checked out the Sundance, Trapper Johns, and the Irish Pub.

I found two new authors I am enjoying. One is L.J Smith who writes the Vampire Diaries and the second is Sherrilyn Keaton who writes the Dark Hunter series both of which ive found very good so far from what I have read.

Went with Brittany to Summer Rush 2009 and got to see Akon,Basshunter,Robin S,Danny Fernendes,September and there were a few others but we didnt stay for the whole thing..too much crazyness lol.

Found two new neat stores..Fashionably Dead which is a punk/alternative/skater style clothing and accessories store and a little cafe on Barrington street that I can't remember the name of but they sell really good herbal teas! Im hooked on their Strawberry Green Tea and Peach Green Tea! Yummy!

And of course I read all the books I own before I bought any new ones lol. Go me!

8 goals completed so far isnt so bad, here's hoping 2010 will be better!

93 Goals left to go! ^^

First Post!

Hello Everyone! and welcome to my new blog! ^^ I am hoping to use this new blog to keep everyone up to date on what im up to and also as a way to keep myself on track for my goals. This year (2009) back in around June I believe (?) Christine whom I work with was doing 101 goals in 1095 days which caught my interest and I thought it would be worth while to give it a try so I spent a couple of days writing out 101 goals that I would hope to accomplish over the next 3 years. I really have to thank Christine for this fantastic idea and wish her luck with her goal list as well.

One of my biggest goals is for weight loss...over the past 5 years my weight has fluxuated from 180-250-over 300 and back down under again. Some of it is due to medical reasons and various medications causing me to retain water weight or just being in pain from health issues that didn't really leave me wanting to do any physical activity as well as of course eating habits which would contribute as well. So from here on forward I am really going to work hard towards getting myself back to a healthy weight and I am going to do it on my own. Before when I starting putting on all the weight my doctor prescribed me Xenical which is a weight loss medication which I have since stopped taking because I want to lose my weight through my own perserverance and energies by working hard and maintaining better eating habits...

So there ya have it, I'll be posting my goal list on here later this evening and will be updating as often as I can with any goal completions and to let you all know how the weight loss is going..I'm also hoping that by putting myself out here this way that I'll be able to keep myself more motivated knowing that my friends and family can keep seeing my progress and cheer me on ^^

Love you all <3
